Intergenerational Harp Project

McGinn’s Violins has been working on a 5 year project introducing woodworking and instrument making to the students at the Kilmeen National School. As part of a larger project “In the Company of Trees” involving elders in the community collaborating with the students this has been a multi-dimensional project with visiting artists, musicians, philosophers and more. The harp is approaching completion and the school is nearly ready to receive its very own community owned harp! Sponsored with thanks by the Dunmanway Clonakilty Credit Union.

Old Time Fair 2019

McGinn’s Violins attended the Clonakilty Old Time Fair again in 2019. It is always a pleasure to share our woodworking and violin making knowledge with the public and to get children interested in working with wood!

Clonakilty Old TIme Fair

McGinn's Violins had a stall at the Clonakilty Old Time Fair in July 2018 demonstrating violin making. We also had an interactive display for people try out a bit of violin making for themselves! A good time was had by all and we look forward to next year.
