At school she learned traditional methods of violin construction as well as instrument repair and bow rehair. She continued her studies apprenticing with master luthier William Whedbee and has attended violin making workshops led by Joe Thrift. Caitlin is a talented cellist and so has deep insight into the subtleties that make for a comfortable, easy to play instrument. She specialises in building fine cellos. As part of a larger project “In the Company of Trees” involving elders in the community collaborating with the students this has been a multi-dimensional project with visiting artists, musicians, philosophers and more. The harp is approaching completion and the school is nearly ready to receive its very own community owned harp!
